Téa Leoni has the air of excited expectation of a child on Christmas Eve. In just a few days, she will welcome her second child into the world. As both hands firmly encircle her stomach, she smiles and says, "I am awaiting this baby with such joy." HELLO! Magazine, May 2002.

"I got about 17 minutes of sleep all last night", says new mom Tea Leoni. "I have an 8-week old son, that's all there is to it. I'm sorry I'm eating in your ear (tuna on low-fat, organic crackers), but it's all about multi-tasking." LA Family interview - November 2002

David explaing Miller’s name to people magazine: MILLER’S TALE: New mom Tea Leoni sorts out the Kyd stuff. Why did Tea Leoni and David Duchovny name their new baby, born June 15, Kyd? Duchovny, who holds a master's in literature from Yale, tells me it's in homage to 16th-century English playwright Thomas Kyd. But around the house the kid isn't even called Kyd - everyone calls him Miller, which is the baby's middle name. "We knew we were going to call him Miller, so the first name was kind of a throwaway," says Duchovny. Leoni is just glad the boy is all right: He was born a week late, and Leoni had undergone a difficult labor with her first child, Madelaine West, 3. "This was a lot easier," Duchovny says. "But Tea's tired. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world." 6 - This one is really long, but so cute! It’s from when DD was on "Live with Regis & Kelly", July 30th, 2002: RP: David Duchovny became a daddy again on July, uhhh, June--15th! DD: That's right. (audience applauds) Thank you. (audience laughs) RP: Kyd Miller Duchovny...well, I like...it's different...it really is. DD: Yeah, we did...we knew we were going to call him Miller, and we knew that was going to be his middle name. It's some kind of tradition in my wife's family. Kelly, Regis: Uh-huh. DD: So, our daughter is Madelaine West, but we call her West... RP: Uh huh. DD: ...so we had the Miller out of the way. We were happy with that...that's my mother's maiden name. RP: Uh huh. (audience laughs) DD: ...you know, it's like, it's like Abbott & Costello. It's like, 'What's your name?' 'Kyd.' 'What's that kid's name?' 'Kyd!' KR: Right. (laughs) DD: Kyd! Kyd! (laughs) 'Is that Kyd?' 'Yeah, that's Kyd! Yeah.' RP: Funny stuff. (laughs) DD: 'First base!' (Regis, Kelly, & audience laugh)
